To provide financial and commercial support to the Sales Director and wider Sales department.

My client is a department of the University of Oxford whose mission is to further the University's objective of excellence in research, scholarship, and education by publishing worldwide.
Your new role
Looking after an annual turnover of £370 Million, this is a really exciting commercial business partnering role concentrating on the turnover of the whole division as well as Commercial Support:
Management of Turnover
Work with the Sales Director to monitor turnover performance throughout the year to ensure on track to achieve budgets/forecasts as needed, tracking and understanding risks and putting mitigation plans in place.
Budgeting and Forecasting
Deliver turnover forecasts and budgets as required, using forecasting tools, understanding of drivers behind the numbers and by close collaboration with Sales Directors. This includes commentary to support numbers.
Work alongside Sales Director and wider Sales team to devise and deliver divisional turnover growth strategy, including appropriate allocation of resources.
Ensure all major decisions taken within Sales are taken with sound commercial judgement. This will include analysis to support decisions around pricing, business models, allocation of resources, and support for new products.
Support Sales Director in setting appropriate targets for sales incentive plans, ensuring they tie in to wider Academic-level budgets and targets set by Group Finance. Support and review proposed changes to incentive schemes through commercial support and analysis as needed.
Business & Market Analysis
Perform ad-hoc business analysis to aid effective decision making.
Work effectively as part of the Academic Finance team, the Academic Division and also across the wider group.
What you'll need to succeed
Qualified ACA / CIMA / ACCA with post qualification experience preferably in commercial or
business partnering role, although a QBE or part qualified candidate would be considered as well.
Initiative and ability to successfully implement new ideas, with drive to push through.
Self-starter and able to work independently.
Outgoing, persuasive and a good communicator with an ability to communicate complex financial matters in a way that is understood at all levels
Have the ability to manage a complex workload with multiple deadlines and stakeholders
Strong Excel skills
Experience of data analysis, interpretation, reconciliation and presentation
Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
Discrete and trustworthy
A good team player
