Job Description

This Audit & Accounts Supervisor role will suit someone who is newly / fully qualified coming from an accountancy practice background. You will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of clients taking the lead on accounts work primarily with a small amount of audit work associated. You will supervise staff members, managing their work flow and reporting to the Client Services Manager.

The successful Audit & Accounts Supervisor will:

Be a key point of contact / relationship manager for a portfolio of clients:

  • Be a key contact between the client and more senior team members, maintaining great relationships and helping to build new ones.
  • Keep in regular contact with the your client base proactively, travelling to client premises when necessary.
  • On-board new clients and assist the Manager with business development.
  • Ensure deadlines are met, prioritising work effectively.
  • Highlight any issues to clients when not agreed at planning stage and help to overcome them quickly and to the clients satisfaction.
  • Be aware of billing considerations to ensure that staff are working efficiently.
  • Keep management informed of progress and escalate any issues when necessary.

Supervise jobs by:

  • Preparing quotes for clients prior to the commencement of jobs.
  • Managing work-flow, team meeting and staff planning.
  • Leading accounts jobs and some audits if necessary.
  • Completing tax calculations when required.
  • Ensuring deadlines are met and assignments are completed on time.
  • Undertaking WIP analysis for billing.
  • Attending clearance meetings for accounts / audits when required with Manager.

Coach and mentor team members through:

  • Motivating and encouraging junior colleagues to help them reach their potential.
  • Effectively communicate responsibilities to trainees and coach the on-the-job.

The successful Audit & Accounts Supervisor will:

  • Be a qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with demonstrable practice experience.
  • Takes a keen interest in business and different markets.
  • Is able to travel to clients sites when necessary.
  • Has a desire to supervise teams
  • Is a confident communicator.
