Client Portfolio Manager (Qualified Accountant)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen in our Chippenham office for a qualified accountant looking for a varied and challenging role as a Client Portfolio Manager, supporting clients across a wide variety of sectors. This role will report directly into the local Partner, supporting them with their portfolio while managing a portfolio of their own. Due to the size of the Chippenham office, there is a real opportunity to take an active role in the growth and development of the team and office as a whole.  The role will also require deputising for the local Partner as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Client work

    • Developing productive relationship with all clients in agreed portfolio, maintaining regular contact, completing all complex accounts work and tax issues, dealing with any specific queries or problems using available specialist skills and knowledge

    • Acting as a point of contact for Partner portfolio in the partner’s absence

  • Supporting colleagues

    • Meeting with and giving full support to employees who work on your client’s work, giving support, feedback and direction as required. Ensure feedback is provided to the Partner as appropriate.

  • Business development

    • Proactively identifying opportunities to expand the portfolio or introduce the provision of additional services for clients

  • Monitoring the achievement of the chargeable units budget, ensuring work is completed within deadlines allocated

Qualifications / Experience

  • ACA/ ACCA qualified or qualified by experience

  • Five years of relevant experience in a client facing role within Practice

  • Experience dealing with clients of various sizes and sectors

  • Use of Xero / QBO

  • Use of Iris practice software – desirable, not essential
