The RCN Finance department provides a full finance service to all RCN Group entities.  This role is to provide a full business accounts service to RCNi.  RCNi is a commercial company providing information and learning solutions to nursing professionals and health organisations.

As Business Accountant, you will supervise the activities of the Assistant Business Accountant (ABA) on a day-to-day basis, to facilitate the meeting of reporting deadlines and review of work performed to ensure accuracy and meet standard required.  Provide guidance and mentoring as necessary.

The role will require a pro-active approach to business issues provide high quality customer support to RCNi’s Executive Team, and their individual teams, covering a wide range of financial and business issues with an understanding of their different priorities and pressures.

You will be responsible for managing the provision of accurate, timely and relevant monthly management reports to the RCNi Executive Team and other budget holders and assist the Senior Business Accountant in forecasting and budget setting for RCNi.

With enthusiasm and positivity, you will be continuously developing effective two-way communication channels with senior management, regularly contributing to senior management team meetings, ensuring they are aware of finance department processes, policies and regulation to enable informed business decisions.

Whilst your specific focus will be on the work and needs of RCNi there will be opportunities to get involved with the diverse work and activities of other RCN Group entities.  Giving you the opportunity to develop and expand your knowledge and experience across a variety of areas by getting involved in Group wide projects and programmes.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will hold a recognised CCAB qualification or equivalent, be able to demonstrate excellent management accounting and communication skills. You will bring to the role a desire to continuously improve financial processes, sharing these improvements with your business accounts colleagues. You will also need a high level of expertise in accounting software packages.
