Job Description

Role required as soon as possible and no later than 23 August 2021.

The Governors and Headmistress invite applications for this pivotal role in this thriving and successful school, with a positive, caring and imaginative environment that gives girls the very best start in life.

The Bursar is responsible to the Headmistress for the business management of the School (which currently has over 180 pupils) and is a member of the Senior Leadership Team. As Clerk to the Governors and Company Secretary, the Bursar is responsible to the Governors for the proper use, allocation and management of the School’s resources.

Our ideal candidate is likely to:

  • Have a track record of working at senior level as part of a leadership team.
  • Have proven experience of working with detailed financial administration and project management. An accountancy qualification would be a distinct advantage.
  • Be a team player who is willing to develop the role and be involved fully in the life of the school.
  • Have and understanding of, and sympathy towards, the independent school ethos and charitable status.
