Job Description

Opportunity to join SKS Business Services Group, an innovative, boutique growing accountancy and tax practice. The role will be based at its subsidiary, Westlake Clark in Chandlers Ford, Southampton and work as part of the SKS Group Audit function.

SKS is a fast growing £12 million + turnover group with 10 offices in the UK.  SKS is an innovative technology savvy company using modern processes suited for current times.

The audit function is centralised, although the teams are dispersed around its 10 offices .The audit client base is quite varied and includes charities, property companies, schools and trading entities.

Westlake Clark was founded in the 1930's and takes great pride in being small enough to maintain individual attention and quick response times whilst being large enough to have specialists in many of today's more complex areas of finance and accounting.

Purpose of Role and Primary Objectives:

Being responsible for audit and assurance assignments (including charity and commercial audits), ensuring their effective and timely completion and maintaining the highest quality of standards

Reporting Relationships:

Report to Partners, Directors and Managers

Report to clients when required and when directed by Partners, Directors and Managers

Duties:

Carry out audit planning, review and completion of assignments

Attend year end stock counts

Being the senior responsible for the day to day running of the audit at the client’s location

Ensuring the audit team are on track and completing audit work within the allocated timetable and budget

Performing detailed testing on more complex audit areas

Reporting to the Partners, Directors and Managers on issues arising and assisting in resolving issues

Reviewing less complex areas prepared by other team members

Communicating to the client on the progress of the audit

Complete appraisal forms

Attend audit and assurance secondments across SKS group member firms subject to availability

Other projects or ad hoc task when discussed

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Auditing

Qualification:

  • Part or Fully ACCA/ACA qualified

  • Good interpersonal skills, particularly verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and review skills
  • Strong commitment to professional client service excellence
  • Appropriate knowledge and skills in your technical field

Remuneration:

Base salary of up to £35,000 per annum plus benefits, dependant on qualifications and experience
