Job Description
Job Purpose:
Lead the effective planning, control, delivery and completion of engagements inline with client, statutory, regulatory and KPMG audit methodology requirements. Grow the revenue and profits and audit function and assist with departmental resourcing. Drive and communicate the firm’s strategy and focus, providing clarity to teams and individuals. Ultimate responsibility for signing audit opinions.
Accountabilities:
Gather and share market, regulatory, industry and economic knowledge and intelligence and use this to ensure service offerings align to client needs.
Coach and direct audit staff to undertake the effective delivery of a range of engagement requirements to ensure timely completion and effective service delivery to the required high standards
Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, business departments and staff to identify current and future audit departments
Execute audits in full compliance with relevant audit standards and KPMG and legal requirements including promoting a culture of strong audit quality within the firm
Contribute towards the creation, implementation and delivery of the department business plan and offer support in relation to issues arising from organisational or client focus change
Assist in monitoring the effectiveness of services delivered, providing feedback accordingly
Seek development areas to meet new challenges and actively address challenges and opportunities within own areas of responsibility.
Candidate Requirements
Proven excellent performance within a Big-4 firm as a financial services audit director or a senior manager of 3+ years’ experience seeking to be an audit Responsible Individual with a Big-4 firm
Excellent knowledge of current accounting and financial reporting standards including IFRS and UK GAAP
Proven experience in leading complex audits, multiple teams and constantly meeting internal and external deadlines and requirements
Chartered or Certified accountant qualification or country equivalent
ICAEW (or similar) Responsible Individual status is essential
Flexibility to meet changing business and departmental needs
Personal accountability and initiative
