Job Description
Qualified Audit Senior /Manager
Experienced qualified Accountant required to help Ramon Lee Ltd and to take responsibility for a portfolio of client fees. Ramon Lee is a long established and successful firm of Chartered Accountants based in the City of London close to Old Street Station.
SKS has a group turnover of £18million+, 250 employees in the UK and 400+ in India and growing fast both by acquiring accounting firms and by adding new clients. 25 offices in the UK.
Job Purpose:
To manage a portfolio of audit and assurance assignments (including charity and commercial audits), ensuring their effective and timely completion and maintaining the highest quality of standards. The role will also include managing audit staff both in the UK and in India.
As well as audit the emphasis will be on accounts based and tax related services.
To assist with the growth of the practice through management of current clients and acquisition of new clients.
Reports to:
Ramon Lee Ltd Director and SKS Group Director
Job Duties:
To plan and carry out audit and accounts preparation for clients based in London and the Home Counties.
Ensuring the audit team are on track and completing audit work within the allocated timetable and budget.
Control and supervise junior staff both in the UK and in India via Skype.
Performing detailed testing on more complex audit areas
Communicating to the client on the progress of the audit and meeting them to discuss accounts.
Advise clients on areas of business improvement and negotiate the terms of business with clients as required.
Reporting to the Directors and Managers on issues arising and assisting in resolving issue
Management
To ensure accurate and timely billing and receipt.
Standardise and update client engagement letters.
Regular dialogue with the India team by Skype.
Improve SKS processes by developing or implementing best practices.
Manage the office (alongside senior staff as shown in the organisational chart), IT systems, security, as appropriate.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending CPD course programme, workshops- reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Travel to sister office in Chalfont (Metropolitan Line) as and when required
Business Development
Business Development - assist SKS Business Development Director as required to acquire new clients. Meet prospective clients, discuss requirements, and create proposal (with assistance from Directors as required).
Extend the value chain by introducing new services to existing clients at all touch points.
Skills/Qualifications:
Minimum 1 years post qualification experience ACA/ACCA.
Excellent audit and technical accounting skills, knowledge of corporate and personal tax, reporting skills, time management, supervision/management skills,
Competent with software such as CaseWare, Sage and Xero although not essential
Completed filings of tax returns through Alphatax and filings of accounts to Companies House through Caseware
Can hit the ground running, motivate others, act as a leader and embraces continuous learning and challenges
Salary: Negotiable based upon experience.
