Job Description

As an audit and accounts senior you will be expected to lead audit and accounts jobs, reporting to the relevant managers and partners and assisting with training of the audit and accounts juniors and semi-seniors.

Our client is a medium sized Accountancy practice with 16 partners in London's West end with circa 100 staff.

Our client looks after a portfolio of various industry sectors across additional service lines including corporate finance, business planning and start ups.

This is a mixed and varied role which will include tax, corporate finance and general business advisory work. 50% of your role will be focused toward an audit element.

We are looking for newly/recently qualified accountants (ACA or ACCA) with strong audit experience and excellent communication skills.

  • Be in charge on senior audit engagements and ensure assignments are completed in an accurate and timely fashion
  • Lead client audit engagements, which includes the planning, executing, and completing stages ensuring all compliance is in place and in line with regulatory standards
  • Preparation of audit planning memorandum, programmes and budget in a timely manner
  • Perform substantive testing and evaluate any error, risks or issues that arise
  • Work closely with your team in accordance with time and budgets set
  • Manage junior staff in developing their understanding of the regulations awareness and technical standards
  • Prepare management letters and closing reports
  • Ensure all client work is completed within applicable reporting deadlines and client requests
  • Maintain client files, documentation and client confidentiality policies
  • Work closely with Management to develop ongoing effective relationships with clients and ensure retention of business


The successful Audit & Accounts Senior should be/have:

  • Fully ACA/ACCA qualified
  • Have relevant and substantial audit and accounts practical experience
  • Be comfortable with technology and software packages such as Microsoft excel, Xero, Sage, CCH, Caseware
  • Be an excellent communicator and hold strong internal and external relationships
  • Enjoy building new and existing client relationships.
