Job Description

Are you an ACA qualified Senior with a total of 5 years experience (or more) from a small accountancy firm background, looking to join an independent, traditional practice based in a prime location in zone 1 Central London? Are you looking for a role with an end of February / early March start date? Are you looking for a firm which is friendly and will offer you a mixed general practice role? Your role will be varied, and include the preparation of statutory accounts from start to finish, corporation and personal tax returns, VAT returns, and supervising one junior member of staff. The firm also have just under 10 audits each year and you can help with audit work if you wish (audit experience is desirable but not essential). You will also assist with managing a portfolio of mainly SME / OMB clients. Clients are mainly based in Central London and are from a wide range of sectors including hospitality, media and entertainment, property, manufacturing, technology, catering, retail and other interesting sectors. Reporting directly to the partner, full training will be provided and you will be given every opportunity to learn new skills. You will liaise with clients on a daily basis and have the opportunity to cross sell services to clients. Clients will be to £16m turnover although most will usually be between £1m and £3m.

To be considered for this new role you must have at least 5 years of experience in a small practice firm, and be looking to continue your career in a well established, friendly, yet small office environment (around 8 staff in total). You must have experience of all the above duties, particularly statutory accounts and tax computations, in a mixed general practice role. It is likely you will be ACA qualified. No study support will be given although the firm will also consider someone with a few exams remaining. Experience of a wide range of software packages would be an advantage. A strong interest in working with London based SME and OMB clients is essential, as is working in a small firm environment, with regular client contact. You must be well presented, be a team player, and be looking to progress to manager level in the future.

This growing accountancy firm has a great reputation for being a friendly and supportive place to work and providing their staff with challenging and varied roles. You will work in a friendly and growing team, and you can expect to work on an interesting array of high profile and growing London based clients from a wide range of sectors. The firm is growing at a rapid rate due to many new business wins from larger accountancy firms. Overall this is a unique opportunity for an experienced small firm general practice Senior to join a traditional and well established practice where you can work in a varied and challenging new role in a friendly team.
