Your new company
Hays Senior Finance are recruiting on behalf of their client based on the outskirts of Perth for an Accountant to join their team for a 12-month fixed-term contract. Salary is up to £65,000 + bonus, hybrid working (minimum 2 days a week in office) + other benefits. This role could potentially go permanent for the right individual.
Your new role
Reporting to the Financial Controller and working as part of a core finance team of 8 staff who are responsible for internal and external financial reporting, and for operating the accounts payable function. You will be responsible for management & financial accounting, including preparation and review of month-end information, overseeing balance sheet reconciliations and preparing the monthly VAT return. You will finance business partner with various internal & external stakeholders to ensure relevant information is provided on time. You will support the year-end audit, be involved with process & system improvement and provide any other financial analysis and support as required.
What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally be a qualified accountant, but qualified by experience individuals with the right experience will be considered. You will have a strong finance background including month end, VAT, financial analysis, reporting & assisting with audit. You will ideally have experience overseeing transactional finance in a hands-on way. Strong Excel skills are required and you will ideally have experience with Sage, however this is not essential.
