Your new company
Hays Senior Finance are recruiting on behalf of their exclusive client based on the outskirts of Dundee for a Finance Manager to join their team for a 12-month fixed-term contract. Salary is up to £60,000 + bonus, hybrid working (minimum 2 days a week in office) + other benefits. This role could potentially go permanent for the right individual.
Your new role
Reporting to the Financial Controller and working as part of a core finance team of 8 staff who are responsible for internal and external financial reporting, and for operating the accounts payable function. While managing a team of 4 finance assistants, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day transactional functions of finance (including bank reconciliations and purchase ledger processing), maintaining ledger integrity, preparation and review of month-end information, overseeing balance sheet reconciliations and preparing the monthly VAT return. You will finance business partner with various internal & external stakeholders to ensure relevant information is provided on time. You will support with the year-end audit, be involved with process & system improvement and provide any other financial analysis and support as required.
What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally be a qualified accountant, however qualified by experience individuals with the right experience will be considered. You will have strong people supervisory or management experience and enjoy developing a team. You will have experience with VAT, financial analysis, reporting & assisting with audit. You will ideally have experience overseeing transactional finance in a hands-on way. Strong Excel skills are required and you will ideally have experience with Sage, however this is not essential.
