Position: Audit and Accounts Manager

Location: Eastbourne, East Sussex

I am working with a prestigious client who is seeking an Accounts and Audit Manager to join their growing team. This role involves client accounting, tax compliance, and auditing tasks, with a focus of 70% on audit and 30% on accounts work. Candidates must be ACA, ACCA, or AAT qualified with at least 3 years of practice experience, including 2 years in an audit role.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with partners on client management, practice development, and business strategy.
  • Lead and manage engagements, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
  • Complete file reviews on a range of audit clients, ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Implement compliance with regulatory standards and internal quality policies.
  • Develop the team and act as a role model.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, assisting with their training.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified or AAT qualified with relevant experience.
  • Minimum of two years of recent practical audit experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge in UK GAAP, FRS 102, LLP SORP, and ISAs.
  • Good IT skills; knowledge of CCH is a plus.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience managing teams, setting workflow, and reviewing others' work.
  • Specialism in charity audits and/or Solicitor Accounts Rules is a bonus.
  • Awareness of current accounts and audit legislation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication skills.
