Overall purpose of this role of Senior Financial Reporting Manager

To lead a high performing financial reporting function for the ICAEW Group, inspiring confidence in our stakeholders and seen as a trusted partner for colleagues in the Finance department and around the organisation.

The role supports the Financial Controller and Head of Finance to deliver high quality reporting, to ensure process are optimised and fit for purpose and to drive a culture of continuous improvement. The Senior Financial Reporting Manager will be required to collaborate closely with colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation to agree and affect positive changes in the Group's reporting processes.

Senior Financial Reporting Manager Responsibilities include:

Lead and develop a team of 2-3 direct reports and further 3-4 indirect reports, covering financial reporting for ICAEW Group, subsidiaries, and associated entities, ICAEW charitable trusts, pension scheme and district societies.Oversee preparation to an agreed audit timetable of IFRS financial statements for ICAEW Group, subsidiaries, and associates.Manage overseas bookkeeping contract and regularly review robustness of overseas control processes.Management and delivery of local international financial statements and annual audits to agreed timeline.Manage upkeep and utilisation of software supporting accounts production. Plan and deliver upgrades, follow, and utilise latest developments.Oversee coordination of audit with external auditors for interim, final, and subsidiary/associates auditsDrive process improvements and efficiencies over financial accounting and reporting processes.Oversight and control of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all reported balances are clearly analysed, explained, and followed up.Assist as required with budgeting and forecasting process, working with colleagues in the FP&A team.Investigation and resolution of technical accounting queriesSupport Financial Controller in development and regular review of controls and policies.Setting objectives for team in line with departmental objectivesSupport development of ESG reporting and underlying processest the results of any analysis and make recommendations as to future courses of aTo build, maintain and manage a high performing team by providing leadership, role clarity, coaching, training & career development.

Senior Financial Reporting Manager Candidate Profile

Relevant CCAB accountancy qualification and strong experience in financial accounting and reportingTechnically strong, demonstrable experience of dealing with complex accounting matters and application of IFRS.Experience of leading, managing, and coaching othersProactive and committed, with a real desire to help improve ICAEW and team performance.Ability to work to tight deadlines and to deliver accurate results.Able to inspire confidence from their peers and directors and build strong, credible relationships.Strong process and project skills and an enthusiasm for continuous improvement and change management.
