About the role:
We’re looking for a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, this role will play a key part in the financial management of the BMA and production of the Group statutory accounts.
This is a busy and varied role that will involve working with the wider finance team and stakeholders across the association and you will have the opportunity to take the lead on different projects, develop and improve financial policies and identify ways to continuously improve financial management across the Group. You will also provide accounting, compliance and technical advice to stakeholders.
This is a part time position up to 0.8fte (work pattern to be agreed). It is a hybrid role (average currently 1 day per week) based from our office in Central London (BMA House).
To be successful as a Financial Accountant you'll ideally have:
- Qualified accountant with audit experience (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, etc) (essential)
- Good understanding of both financial and management accounting
- Working knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards (FRS102)
- Good communication skills and the ability to translate financial system requirements into workable solutions
- Advanced Excel with the ability to use functions such as vlookup, pivot tables
- Ability to work well under pressure and to agreed deadlines, flexible approach around key annual accounting
- Use of initiative and pro-active attitude to provide information that add value and simplifies process where possible
- An eye for detail and ability to work a consistently high level of accuracy
