Greenpeace is an international network of non profit campaigning organisations operating in over 55 countries. Our independence and global reach enable us to stand for positive change through action in order to defend nature and promote peace. We investigate and expose global environmental problems, confront those in positions of power and present alternative solutions.
This is a full-time, permanent position, with an expectation to be at our Head Office in Islington, London, 2-days per week.
In this role, you will provide leadership, strategic direction and oversight for the Finance and Operations Department, and play a vital cross-organisational leadership role. You will manage deputies and create a ‘can do’ culture which ultimately helps our campaigns succeed out in the world.
The purpose of this role is to provide long-term leadership, strategic direction, and oversight for the Finance and Operations Department, ensuring that our financial, legal, IT, and facilities functions are capable of supporting the organisation to deliver its campaign ambition and conducted in alignment with the UK and global Greenpeace vision and strategy. The role will elevate finance in the organisation, be a crucial part of the senior management team and work closely with the board as a strategic partner.
The Finance and Operations Director will continually develop Greenpeace’s capacity to deliver innovative, effective financial management, governance, risk management, and resource allocation while helping manage organisational risks; both within the UK and in support of priority NROs and the global programme.
It would be beneficial if you could bring:
- Experience of devising and implementing change management initiatives that encourage understanding and inclusion.
- Experience of overseeing changes or updates to organisational systems, structures and design including but not limited to risk management, finance and governance.
- Commitment to the values of Allyship, an understanding of social movements, and ideas about how organisations like Greenpeace can effectively participate in and enable them.
This role is being managed by our selected Recruitment Partner, Practicus. All applications will be directed to them.
