Today, the business consists of 3 retail stores and a website, 2 spas, a private members club and an international wholesale business.
About The Role
This is a key role in supporting the growth of the business, with full responsibility for delivering monthly management accounts to include P&L, balance sheet and cashflow. The role involves full end-to-end ownership of the management accounts process, ensuring underlying controls and processes are observed, with finance ledgers appropriately maintained and will require regular interaction with the senior management to present and review business performance and drive enhanced profitability. You will partner with senior stakeholders across the business and play a key role in driving the business forward.
Responsibilities
- As Management Accountant, the role will be the key Finance point of contact for the MD and the Operational Business unit owners, providing support and challenge on business performance
- Preparation and presentation of monthly management accounts and preparation of Exec reporting pack
- Ownership of the accounting ledger, ensuring processes and controls are followed and maintaining a regular cycle of balance sheet reconciliations. To include responsibility for the annual audit process.
- Manage planning, forecasting and budget processes.
Skills You Will Bring
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with a strong academic record
- Experience in "owning" the monthly management accounts process and ensuring accounting ledgers are maintained and ready for external audit
- Experience delivering budgets/forecasts and the process of achieving stakeholder buy-in
- Great communication skills; able to get clear, simple & impactful messages across to non-financial users
- Strong relationship builder; able to provide challenge & support in equal measure
- Experience in a similar retail /wholesale/e-commerce business
- Self-confident & tenacious; strong influencing skill
- Proactive and positive, able to remove barriers to get the job done
- Detail-oriented but can see the bigger picture
