Your new company
Our client is a large UK&I professional services firm, with a number of individual entities therein. Highly acquisitional, new businesses are frequently brought in and the systems landscape is constantly changing. With a 21st century, think-outside-the-box approach towards its clients, the firm itself is at an advanced stage on its own journey for the company to run holistically , and this new role will be critical in terms of whole-firm application of IFRS reporting standards, and streamlining systems across existing and future acquired entities.
Your new role
Newly-created, this is a Head Office function, but can be worked remotely. While there are also regional FCs in the firm, this is a unique role with specific responsibility for (inter alia):
- IFRS implementation and compliance
- Offering technical accounting advice on transactions such as acquisitions, mergers, consolidations, leases, and revenue recognition
- Supporting the firm as an expert on IFRS, providing ongoing support and guidance to the finance team, senior management, and others
- Special projects and advisory
- Systems process improvement, including integration and constant re-evaluation
- Strategic financial planning
- Financial management, reporting, controls & compliance
- Leading the Central Finance Function team, and the mentoring/ development thereof
- Cashflow management, Treasury and cost control

What you'll need to succeed
In person and attitude, you'll be someone who is motivated by the constant change, projects and challenges that come with being part of a fast-growing business! Agility of thinking and ability to respond to evolution and change are very much the mindset here. Many businesses might say they are dynamic and fast-paced - this client pretty much writes the book on it!
Background and technical skills include:
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA) is required.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, with proven experience in applying and interpreting IFRS standards.
- The ability to lead and implement changes related to new accounting standards.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in financial reporting or accounting, with a focus on IFRS.
- Prior experience in a financial controller role or technical accounting role is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Effective communication and presentation skills to explain technical issues to non-financial stakeholders. - Strong project management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Proficiency in financial reporting systems e.g., SAP, Oracle, other ERP systems

While this is a remote-working role, very occasional presence in the London office may be necessary ,but likely to be no more frequent than once a month.
