Job Details
Your new company
My client is a mid-sized advisory firm who specialise in commercial disputes, valuation advisory, litigation & international arbitration, investigations/intelligence, compliance/monitoring, forensic technology and data analytics. A single global p&l , they have for many years been adept at resourcing projects with their international as well as domestic staff, a strategy which means that cases can be progressed through different time zones and therefore for longer continuous time periods. London has 3 testifying Experts and is highly ranked/rated in both Chambers and WWL - firms on the other side of a case tend to be considerably larger, which is another marker of their positioning. Promotion and a surge in demand means that the London team are now ready to hire an experienced Senior Manager/AD or junior Director - first promotion from one to the other is of course in scope. The firm has a long history of growing its own Experts and if that is your desired trajectory, you'll be given every opportunity to fulfil this.
Your new role
- Running the cases completely yourself - or certainly getting them 95% of the way there
- Projects could include - inter alia - international arbitration, quantification of loss and valuation analysis, contractual disputes, transactional disputes, joint venture/ shareholder disputes, post-acquisition claims including warranty indemnity, competition & antitrust work and business interruption.
- They work seamlessly as a global firm and international / cross-jurisdiction experience is guaranteed.
- Handling as much autonomy and responsibility as you feel ready for, yet also having the space for business development and further growing your own profile
- Applicably soft utilisation target for those wanting to develop further up the BD curve (60%) , though year one likely to see a higher ratio of changeability (the firm is incredibly busy.)
What you'll need to succeed
Experienced to at least Senior Manager/ Associate Director level
Natural predisposition - in experience and appetite - towards disputes and valuations
Keen to develop your path towards Expert in your own right
What you'll get in return
- Support and mentoring from seasoned and very well-regarded Experts
- Being "the face of the case" and the go-to contact for clients
- The budget and encouragement to attend conferences/networking events and follow-up meetings thereafter
- Clear path and training to Expert/Partner
