Interim Deputy Finance Director

Your new company
The Hays senior finance team are currently working closely with a highly regarded healthcare company in the Bath area who are looking for a qualified interim deputy finance director for the rest of this year. The role is initially for 4-6 months to support an unexpected absence in the team. You will be required to support the finance director while the company goes through a staffing restructure during a busy period in the business.
Your new role
The finance director is looking for a reliable & solid number 2 to lead and support and support the finance function, producing financial reports, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

• Lead on income all accounting and negotiating insurance price uplifts
• Report and provide written commentary of month-end performance to Head of Finance with variances.
• Support the Head of Finance in the production of the year-end statutory accounts.
• Support the Head of Finance in the production of annual budgets.
• Lead on returns to the parent organisation.
• Create and maintain financial reports clearly for non-financial parties.
• Review all month end reconciliations and highlight issues to the Head of Finance.
• Review aged debt.
• Support/train Finance team.
• Ensure compliance with both financial and industry regulations
• Create forward-looking budgeting models and feed into the group budgeting process.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to achieve company goals.
• Engage and support the Head of Finance with external partners e.g., auditors, banks, insurance companies.
• Lead on intercompany reconciliations.
• Undertake ad hoc project work.

What you'll need to succeed

• We are looking to speak with experienced senior finance interims who are immediately available.
• It is essential you are qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
• Your role will include managing, training & mentoring the team, so we are looking to speak with personable & approachable candidates who enjoy this aspect of the role.
• Previous healthcare/NHS or similar industry experience would be desirable for this role.
