Your new company
Hays have partnered with this regulator based in Birmingham who are looking for an experienced Financial Reporting and Assurance Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.
Your new role
They are looking for a technical accountant to monitor and review financial information provided by companies for compliance on relevant reporting requirements.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Performing technical reviews of companies' annual reports and accounts and making judgements on whether there is possible material non-compliance with relevant reporting requirements.
- Analysing company responses, undertaking additional research as necessary
- Recommending regulatory action if necessary
- Preparing initial correspondence to companies for review.
- Preparing summaries on cases for publication.
- Maintaining and developing relationships with internal and external parties
- Maintaining and developing technical knowledge and understanding of accounting standards
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in the position, you will:
- Be a fully qualified member of ICAEW, ACCA, ICAS or CAI (or equivalents) and have:
- Significant post-qualification experience of applying IFRS and UK GAAP, ideally at a senior manager level or above
- Have extensive knowledge of corporate reporting requirements and best practice.
- Have excellent research and analytic skills.
- Have a good understanding of the regulatory environment and regulatory frameworks
