Staff Officer Accountant

Hays Accountancy and Finance are recruiting and working in partnership with a large public sector organisation for the appointment of a Staff Officer Accountant offering a competitive market leading salary and public benefits. Are you going to be a qualified Accountant within 6 months or already a Chartered Accountant and on the lookout for a new role? I've got an exciting and exclusive opportunity within the Department for Communities.

Your new role
The role relates to the production of monthly management accounts, completing checks and reconciliations on financial balances, completing fixed asset returns, and the preparation of the monthly VAT return for business areas and the Department. Use of Excel and a standalone role. Experience of production of monthly and year-end statutory accounts. Knowledge of fixed asset financial reporting, IFRS 16 and completion of the monthly VAT return.

What you'll need to succeed

• Applicants must be fully qualified within 6 months or already a fully qualified accountant, having successfully completed the professional examinations, and be a full Member of one of the following bodies:
• Chartered Accountants Ireland;
• The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland;
• The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales;
• The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants;
• The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants;
• The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy
• The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland.

AND must have one year's experience gained in the last five years-in a finance-related environment.
