A career within Corporate Tax services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet their tax obligations while managing the impact tax has on their business. You'll advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing working capital, and profit sharing for partners. You'll also help organisations understand the pricing implications of goods and services between related parties, as well as providing advice on tax implications of deals.Our team helps our clients improve their tax function to control risk and facilitate better decision making. You'll focus on helping businesses with tax strategy, ensuring tax compliance, increasing post tax profits, and providing application support to achieve the best corporate tax practices.
About the role

We are looking for a Tax Disputes Senior Associate 2, with experience gained through professional practice or as a former tax inspector.

You will work alongside other national Tax Dispute specialists, and the wider L&I tax team, on a range of advisory projects.

The successful candidate(s) will have an unrivalled opportunity to support clients to resolve complex and high value disputes with tax authorities, working with some of the UK's leading experts. The successful candidate(s) will demonstrate knowledge of HMRC's compliance powers and tax administration law and practice, with experience of engaging with HMRC and achieving resolutions.

What your days will look like:
  • You will be encouraged to work on projects where you interact with clients, exploring business issues and potential needs
  • Work to Managers, Seniors Managers, Directors and Partners, undertaking technical analysis work and providing advice on potential options available to clients
  • You will be expected to become involved in business development activities with a view to winning new projects and assignments.
  • Assist clients to manage their tax governance and dealings with HMRC and overseas fiscal authorities.


This role is for you if:
  • Have knowledge of HMRC structure, policies and procedures
  • Possess knowledge of key tax administration legislation, covering Information Powers, Penalties, Assessments, Enquiries Senior Accounting Officer regime
  • Hold strong project management skills and strong analytical skills
  • Interpersonal and team working skills and have demonstrable relationship building skills
  • Must possess a ACA/CTA Qualification (or an international equivalent) or have equivalent work experience. This includes international candidates who qualify through experience in their home country
