Personal tax manager - stand alone

You will be working for a small, friendly firm of accountants in the Southampton area that has been established for many years. The client base consists of a wide range of companies, mostly owner-managed businesses, and they deal with around 550 tax returns each year. They are also registered auditors. They use IRIS for all accounts, tax and practice management and Superpay for all payroll matters (they have c100 payroll clients).

The firm is seeking to appoint a Tax Manager who will be responsible for the management and submission of the firms tax returns, probably being personally responsible for the completion of c300 returns ably assisted with the others by other team members. This is a stand-alone tax role, so you will need to be able to work unsupervised and manage your own workload and the progress of tax work completed by other team members as required. It is predominantly a compliance-based role, but there may be the opportunity to be involved in some more complex cases if they arise.

You will need to have a strong background in a similar role in accountancy practice and although the ATT or CTA qualification would be good, the firm is happy to consider candidates who are "qualified by experience". If you can do the job, they would love to meet you!
