Management Accountant

Hays Finance are delighted to be partnering with a large logistics company who are looking to add to their finance team through a period of growth.
Your new role
As Management Accountant you will be working alongside the Finance Manager, reporting to the Head of Finance and responsible for high-profit business units across the region, supporting growth projects and driving sustainable financial performance.

Main responsibilities include

• Proactively supporting the growth of the business through provision of financial modelling and commercial insight
• Supporting the prioritisation of investment and business cases with a focus on maximising return on investment
• Promote a data-led approach to discussions with the divisional teams
• Support the business in commercial negotiations with customers & suppliers
• Reviewing customer & supplier terms and conditions highlighting risks & opportunities
• Managing the financial performance of the business, including financial reporting (Monthly, divisional and group) and forecasting
• Develop an understanding of the funding arrangements and control cash in line with budgets/forecasts/convenants
• Develop effective relationships across the Divisional leadership team
• Maintain appropriate controls and ensure adherence to delegated authorities, continually evolve governance structures as the business grows
• Seek to continually improve processes and drive efficiency into financial procedures

What you'll need to succeed

• Qualified Accountant or Part Qualified Account towards the end of the studies
• Proven track record in finance business partnering
• Capability to operate cross function
• Strong understanding of UK GAAP
• Commercially aware with a proven ability to identify and drive profit/cash improvement initiatives
• Strong planning & forecasting skills
• Able to partner with non-financial leaders
• Strong analytical skills
