Job Details
Accounts Manager job with leading firm in Colchester.
Your role will include managing a portfolio of accounts, providing a high standard of professionalism along with quality of service. You will also be required to manage and organise the work of the team effectively to ensure that targets are met and standards maintained in accordance with the relevant accounting standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of accounts clients
- Develop and maintain effective client relationships, including attending client meetings
- Prepare or review financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, charities and limited companies in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
- Assist in organising the flow of work within the team, allocating assignments as necessary, taking into consideration resourcing requirements
- Review work undertaken by junior staff
- Monitor and report on team performance
- Ensure that work is delivered within budget and time requirements
- Provide assistance in the development of junior staff
- Prepare schedules for tax returns
- Review VAT returns and management accounts
Skills, Qualifications and other Requirements:
- Excellent computer skills using paperless office solutions
- Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
- Ability to work as part of a team, yet also work using your own initiative when required
- ACA/ACCA qualified with at least 5 years post-qualification experience
- Experience of managing junior staff
- General Practice experience
- Ability to travel to client premises and between offices
- Good organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proven analytical skills
