Your new company
Hays Senior Finance are exclusively engaged by a specialist manufacturing group based near Swindon to appoint a permanent Head of Finance to lead their finance and IT team and partner the senior leadership team as they enter their next phase of investment and growth. The business has undergone a period of change, but retains a solid reputation in it's field, and now requires a tenured finance leader with a hands-on and continuous improvement mindset to support its growth plans.

Your new role
As Head of Finance, you will lead the finance team and act as a true business partner, ensuring the company remains as profitable as possible by managing risk and all financial matters.

• Overseeing all financial aspects for the company including financial planning, budgeting, reporting, analysis and strategic decision making.
• Tracking cash flow and accounting information, overseeing taxation affairs, implementing revenue increasing strategies and providing strategic financial recommendations.
• Developing secure procedures to ensure all accounting activities and internal audits comply with financial regulations.
• Accountable for all statutory reporting, compliance, annual accounts, VAT & R&D claims alongside monthly reporting to investors/financial bodies.
• Working closely with the board members and Senior Leadership team to provide strategic and operational support on numerous growth plans, whilst managing any business risk.
• Provide trusted guidance & coaching to the Board and senior leadership team as well as managers & Supervisors on all financial matters.
• Building and maintaining strong working relationships with the Board and Senior Leadership Team and managers to understand business requirements and how to support them.
  
  

What you'll need to succeed
We are seeking a fully qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) finance leader with proven experience as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance, or Finance Director within a manufacturing or engineering industry. This role requires a hands-on approach and a continuous mindset. Experience with R&D tax relief is highly advantageous.
