London

Hybrid working 2 days in the office and 3 from home.

Permanent

Full Time and 35 hours per week

Up to £95,000pa depending on experience.

Join our team as Banking and Insurance Manager.

Our team is instrumental in shaping and influencing ICAEW's stance on accounting and regulatory policies within the UK financial services sector. We provide valuable thought leadership and best practice to our corporate and individual members and bring together senior representatives from the accounting profession, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies such as the PRA and FCA.

Overall Purpose of this role of Banking and Insurance Manager

The purpose of this role is to deliver high quality content, thought leadership, policy responses and technical and practical information relating to issues affecting the financial services industry, regarding banking and insurance.

Banking and Insurance Manager Responsibilities include:

Work collaboratively with active members of ICAEW's Financial Services Faculty and other teams across ICAEW to develop and deliver high-quality content relating to thought leadership, policy, and technical guidance to ICAEW members in matters affecting the financial services industry, with particular focus on banking and insurance.Take the lead role in supporting ICAEW's Banking and Insurance Committees to ensure the Institute can optimise value and insight from our members and in turn provide strong representation and deliver impact for our profession.Develop, draft and delivery policy representations in response to public consultations from key bodies relating to the financial services industry, such as HM Treasury, the Prudential Regulation Authority, the Financial Conduct Authority and Parliamentary Select Committees.Assist ICAEW's Head of Financial Services, primarily through the delivery of high-quality technical content, in raising the profile of ICAEW and chartered accountants and enhancing the reputation and influence of the Institute and the wider profession in financial services.

Banking and Insurance Manager Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will possess the following skills, attributes, and experience:

Educated to a high standard.A qualified chartered accountant or alternative relevant professional qualification with relevant experience would be advantageous.Direct experience of working in the financial services industry in the fields of banking and insurance. It is anticipated that such experience will have been gained through working directly in these fields, at a professional services firm advising or auditing these areas of activity, in a financial services regulator or another professional body or relevant trade association.Strong understanding of developments and issues affecting the financial services industry, including future of financial services regulation, impact upon technology and ESG-related matters and implementation of relevant standards. Strong project management skills, with the proven ability to devise, develop, and deliver high quality content, thought leadership and policy work which advances discussion and debate and helps to enhance the reputation and influence of ICAEW in the field of financial services.Good inter-personal, negotiating, and collaborative skills.Ability to work across teams and departments to help deliver not only Reputation & Influence's objectives, but ICAEW's strategic and operational objectives.
