Corporation Tax Senior/ Assistant Manager

Our client is a firm of Chartered Accountants that has been working with individuals and businesses for over 50 years.
Based in Maidenhead and London with a sister firm in Dorchester, they provide a full suite of advisory, accountancy, outsourcing and taxation services to a client base ranging from individuals and start-ups to multimillion turnover UK and international entities. The Job RoleKey responsibilities:

  • Review of corporation tax returns prepared by the accounts team and liaise with clients on compliance matters that may need addressing as a result of the review
  • Analysis of larger groups including group loss relief and restrictions
  • All tax compliance matters for property companies consisting of commercial and residential properties
  • Be responsible for ensuring all monthly Quarterly Instalment Payment calculations are completed and clients are aware in good time
  • Providing ad hoc advisory to clients on tax matters with an awareness of the following topics:
  • Restructuring/ acquisitions/ demergers
  • MBOs
  • Transfer pricing/ overseas tax issues
  • Corporate interest restrictions
  • Leases
  • Share schemes
  • Capital allowances
  • Assisting partners with tax advisory work including approaching external providers to provide bespoke advice where needed
  • Tax repayment claims and related working papers
  • Liaise with clients/HMRC/ external advisors by post, email and phone as required
  • Be responsible for billing clients for work completed
  • Manage workload and be efficient in time keeping
  • Working with a wide range of clients across many sectors including property development/ investment, technology and food and beverage.



The Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a corporation tax focused role.
    Ideally this would be tax experience with both owner managed companies, along with SME corporates and subsidiaries of larger (international) groups.
  • ACA/CTA qualification or studying towards the CTA qualification via the Corporation Tax pathway would be ideal but are not essential
  • Strong corporation tax experience is essential, personal tax knowledge is also useful to assist in tax return preparation
  • Good understanding of the CCH tax software package
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
  • Team player and a good sense of humour
  • Someone who wants an opportunity to fast track their tax career and be given an opportunity to take on more responsibility.
