Job Details

Job Title:  Chartered Accountant (Team Manager)
Location: Chelmsford, Essex

Start date and interview times: Interviewing immediately, start date will be September 2024 (date TBC)

Role Type: Permanent/ Full-time (Office based)

Hours/Days (per week): 9am – 5:30pm (7.5 hours per day) 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary Range:  £50,000 to £60,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Notice & Probation: 6 months’ probation / Notice period – TBC

About the Company:
The company has been established since the mid 60’s, and is on an impressive growth trajectory. Historically employee numbers have averaged 20, but over the past two years, this figure is now approaching 45, with the aim of expanding to 50 by the end of the year (throughout 4 office locations).

The company specialise in all forms of traditional accounting services, but also prides itself on its business advisory services to assist clients in reaching their full potential.

The company is investing heavily in apprentices and graduates, and this has led to the need of employing crucial senior hires within the business to maintain the current upward trajectory and client service.

Job Description:
We are seeking a Chartered Accountant with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience (PQE) to join our fantastic team, with a focus on business development and growing the newest office located in Chelmsford, Essex.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Accounting principles, financial analysis, and business strategy, combined with a passion for driving growth and creating opportunities for the company.

Answering directly to the Managing Director, the team already has a trainee Chartered Accountant with the goal of expanding the team as work load grows over the coming months.

Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Develop and implement business development strategies to drive both growth and expand market presence.
  • Identify new business opportunities and partnerships to enhance the company's market position.
  • Manage client relationships and provide financial advisory services.
  • Prepare statutory accounts, tax returns, VAT return.
  • Manage a growing team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Chartered Accountant qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years PQE in Accounting or Finance.
  • Proven experience in business development and strategic planning.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
