Your new company
Our client is a leading manufacturer in their specialist field with headquarters in the US and a global presence in R&D, manufacturing, and sales.

Your new role
Due to structural changes, they are actively seeking an energetic and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join their finance team. This role involves hands-on oversight of the company's financial records and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Responsibilities will include:

  • Financial Accounting:
    • Assist with month-end accounting processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analyses.
    • Support preparation of quarterly financial reporting packs.
    • Prepare annual statutory financial statements (FRS102).
    • Assist in organising the annual UK statutory audit, liaising with auditors.
    • Maintain accuracy of Oracle statutory ledgers for local accounts and tax returns.
  • Tax and Compliance:
    • Administer VAT reporting and compliance, including logistics importation record keeping.
    • Prepare Corporation Tax Returns Packs and assist with quarterly tax provisions.
    • Liaise with third-party advisors as needed.
    • Ensure timely completion of regulatory returns.
  • Treasury:
    • Support preparation and maintenance of cashflow reports.
    • Assist with local treasury processes and intragroup settlements.
    • Manage corporate credit card programs.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls (including Sarbanes Oxley).
    • Effectively manage the Overseas Shared Service Centre team.
    • Provide guidance to non-finance staff within the business.


What you'll need to succeed
The ideal person will be fully ACA or ACCA qualified with several years of demonstrable experience working in a professional accounting practice or a commercial organisation. Experience in FRS102 is key along with proficiency in ERP systems (preferably Oracle) and Microsoft Excel (lookups, pivot tables, and formulas). The right person will be a self-motivated problem solver with a 'can-do' attitude. Someone who excels in teamwork and has a strong desire to drive positive changes within a decentralised finance function. Excellent communication skills are essential.
