Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a leading and well-established manufacturing/agricultural group based in Ledbury, Herefordshire to recruit a driven and dynamic Management Accountant. Reporting directly to the Financial Director with future career development on offer to become the Financial Controller in time. This is a varied and hands-on role working within an SME environment, supervising a small and close-knit finance team. Managing the day-to-day and monthly accounting processes, while being involved in process and system improvements, financial analysis and supporting the business by providing quality management information to aid growth. Your new role


Your key duties will involve supervising a small finance team with oversight of transactional finance duties including purchase ledger, sales ledger, and credit control. You will provide monthly management reporting including financial statements, KPI's, sales and gross margin analysis, preparation/posting of prepayments, accruals, and monthly journals. Monthly balance sheet reconciliations, project costing maintenance, fixed asset register with monthly depreciation, foreign currency exchange transactions, and currency valuations. You will assist with year-end accounts processes including audit and tax, monthly payroll process/reporting, UK VAT preparation/submission and support month-end reporting tasks. You will business partner with non-financial management, assist in strategic objectives for the business, and support the Financial Director with process/system improvements projects.


What you'll need to succeed


To be considered for this hands-on and varied Management Accountant role, you will need experience in a similar position, part-qualified/qualified; CIMA/ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience. Strong MS excel skills, proven experience with management and financial accounting, excellent analytical skills with attention to detail. You will be proactive, energetic, and passionate about continuous improvement to support cost savings and efficiencies. With strong communication skills with internal colleagues at all levels, who has the ambition to grow and develop with the company. Experience within the manufacturing or agricultural sectors would be advantageous but not essential.


What you'll get in return


This permanent Management Accountant role offers a salary between £40,000 - £52,000 per annum, dependable on experience based in Ledbury, Herefordshire. Study package on offer if applicable and flexible start/finish times. A great opportunity with clear progression to a future Financial Controller where you can really impact and support a well-established group with clear growth plans.
