Job Details

Finance Manager / Management Accountant

Directly Responsible To: Head of Finance

Salary: £35,000 - £38,000

Hours of Duty: 36 hours per week. Hours are variable and may include weekend and evening working.

Location: Betws-y-Coed (Hybrid)

PRIMARY PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF JOB:To maintained accurate accounting records and produce timely financial performance reporting.


  • Maintain accurate accounting records, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded correctly.
  • Produce monthly management accounts including commentary and variance analysis within reporting deadlines.
  • Develop additional financial performance reporting.
  • Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly.
  • Assist with budgets and forecasting.
  • Maintain a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly vat returns.
  • Maintain fixed asset register.
  • Assist with documenting accounting policies and procedures.

Key Knowledge, Experience, Abilities and Skills

  • Part Qualified accountant with a strong commercial acumen.
  • Proven accounting technical and analytical ability.
  • Excellent working knowledge of accounting systems: XERO would be an advantage.
  • Advanced level user of MS Excel with the ability to effectively manipulate large volumes of data.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels with both financial and non-financial management.
  • Working knowledge of accounting for charities.
  • Experience of partial exempt vat returns.
