Hays Accountancy & Finance have been exclusively retained to recruit an experienced and hands-on permanent part-time or full-time Management Accountant for a well-established international manufacturing company based in Gloucester, Gloucestershire. A varied accounting role reporting directly to the Financial Controller, working within a close-knit finance team, involving a wide range of finance duties from management accounts preparation, budgeting/forecasting, through to supporting the team with transactional duties including account reconciliations and invoicing when needed. This permanent Management Accountant role is open to finance professionals who are qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience, full-time or part-time from three days per week and will be tailored around the right candidate.

Your new role

Your key duties will involve management accounts preparation, budgeting and forecasting, weekly cash flow preparation, maintenance of the fixed asset register, prepayments/accruals, along with reconciliation of all control accounts. You will check VAT returns, manage weekly stock takes, job costing processes, complete office of National Statistics forms, support year-end audit preparation along with R&D tax relief. You will be involved in credit insurance processes, supporting the Financial Controller with ad-hoc duties and projects for process improvement. You will be hands-on and not precious on the accounting processes you are involved in, supporting the finance team with transactional duties when needed, including purchase/sales ledger processing and bank reconciliation. The role will be tailored around the right finance professional.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this part-time or full-time Management Accountant role, you will need experience within a similar position, strong MS Excel skills, used to managing workloads and meeting deadlines, along with key analytical skills. You will have key communication skills to build relationships at all levels both internally/externally, be trained in a range of financial systems, and be adaptable to business needs. You will have experience working in a hands-on and varied finance role, not precious on accounting duty and happy to support a small close-knit accounting team. You will be AAT/ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified or part-qualified or qualified by experience. Experience with MS business central and within the manufacturing/import sector would be advantageous but not essential.

What you'll get in return

This permanent Management Accountant role is offering a salary between £38,000 - £48,000 per annum full-time or pro rata, dependable on experience based in Gloucester, Gloucestershire. Hours can be full-time or part-time (minimum 3 days per week) with private medical cover, private pension scheme, early finish on Fridays and further company benefits.
