Are you a finance professional looking for an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing internal finance team? We are seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join the Business Solutions Business Partnering team at PwC.

About Us:

PwC's Business Partnering teams work hand-in-hand with our employees across the business, informing our leaders on the key decisions that drive the business forward, and shape their engagements. We entrust our Business Partnering teams to be proactive and honest, to build relationships and influence, to understand, challenge, and hold a mirror to the business, and to translate the numbers into a business story.

Our Finance team has a unique opportunity for an experienced Finance Business Partnering Senior Associate to join the Business Solutions Business Partnering (BSBP) team. BSBP provides decision support services to the central functions, which have a combined cost base of c. £0.7bn. Areas include Real Estate and Facilities Management, Technology, People Function, Risk, Finance and Sales and Marketing.

About the Team:

The Business Solutions Business Partnering team is strongly aligned to the firmwide PwC strategy of leveraging technology (assets and capability) to make a difference in solving our clients' most important problems and achieving better commercial outcomes. The aim of our strategy is to simplify how we identify, develop and access technology.

As a Senior Associate within the BSBP team you will be using technology such as Alteryx, Power BI and Tableau to prepare visuals and dashboards in order to present key financial information to senior stakeholders within the firm. Good IT skills are required in order to make efficient use of the Firm's financial systems.

This is a collaborative, diverse and engaging role, and a vital function to the firm. Our BSBP Finance team is an integral part of each area of Business Solutions, working closely with leaders to help drive business performance, identify and drive financial improvements, prepare plans and budgets, and report on the performance of the business - commercially, and functionally. PwC takes a people-first approach to Finance, and empowers its Business Partnering teams to be collaborative and value-adding.

About the Role:

The individual in this role can expect to be exposed to a variety of critical Finance functions, depending on their skills and aspirations. They will also build working relationships with other Business Partnering teams, the Directors of Finance, business leaders and PwC's Centres of Excellence.

The Finance Business Partnering Senior Associate will play a key role in supporting the following areas:
  • Business strategy and planning
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Performance management and commercial oriented solutions
  • Financial control and compliance
  • Stakeholder support

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reporting to and supporting the finance leader on the preparation of plans, budgets and forecasts
  • Being responsible for monthly journals (preparing and processing accruals, prepayments, recharges and allocations)
  • Assisting in the preparation of value-added financial analysis and reports, including explanations for major variances
  • Build and maintain strong relationships at various leadership levels with internal clients and the internal finance team
  • Providing ad hoc support to the finance leader on day to day financial management and administration, as required

About You:

We are looking for a candidate who ideally is studying for an accounting qualification (CA, ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent). You should be a competent user of technology, strong in Excel or Google Sheets, and ideally have experience with SAP, Alteryx, and Power BI or Tableau. Additionally, you should be commercially minded with a deep understanding of the business.

Other qualifications and skills we are looking for include:
  • Ability to prioritise and adapt within a dynamic working environment
  • Growth mindset - ability to learn, embrace new challenges, and add new perspectives
  • Resilience - agility with change, ability to cope with uncertainty and challenges
  • A clear personal pride for delivering high-quality services to clients, including the ability to consistently manage their expectations and anticipate their needs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound accounting and analytical skills
  • Strong organisational skills, including multi-tasking and prioritising effectively
  • Proactive in identifying, flagging and offering solutions to potential issues or problems
