Job Details

A well-established manufacturing business based in Tewkesbury with some very exciting and ambitious growth plans is recruiting an experienced Finance Manager, ideally from an SME background. You will be covering a 12 month contract whilst the current incumbent is moved on to a systems project.


This is an all-encompassing finance role with responsibility for all of the financials including monthly management accounts, analysis, financial reporting, managing risk and supporting management in driving business performance. Currently the company are turning over around £62million and have a very entrepreneurial mindset with growth being key to their success.


The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of managing a team, developing the month end process, budgeting, cash flow management & forecasting, analysis and reporting, whilst still being hands on in the AR and AP roles. We are looking for an individual with a positive attitude, who can bring new ideas, be proactive and help drive the business forward in a hands-on way, also with the ability to assist on projects and requirements outside of finance.


Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility of accounting procedures
  • Manage a team of 4 people
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and month end processes
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Cash flow forecast budget vs actual
  • Production of monthly board pack including commentary
  • Year-end information for accountants
  • Oversee Purchase/Payment ledger
  • Oversee Sales ledger
  • Oversee bank balances
  • VAT returns
  • Preparing audit packs
  • Prepare financial statements for internal and external use
  • Analyse financial performance and produce forecasts
  • Advise management on financial decisions to assist business profitability and growth


Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Finance Manager in SME businesses
  • The willingness and desire to take on wider operational duties within the business
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or someone Qualified by Experience
  • Experience in working with SAP is ideal but not essential
  • Good people management skills
  • Positive, proactive and enthusiastic attitude
  • Attention detail is essential and a pre-requisite for any potential successful candidate
