Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a leading and successful Global FTSE 250 group to recruit for a dynamic and driven Assistant UK Finance Manager. Based in Wotton-Under-Edge, Gloucestershire, you will support the Finance Manager in managing the financial operations and reporting for the UK companies within the Group. A varied and broad permanent accounting role involving monthly management accounts, assisting in ensuring compliance with UK tax, and accounting regulations, as well as internal policies. Your new role

Key duties will involve supporting the general ledger team management, preparing monthly management accounts including control account reconciliations, accruals, prepayment summary schedules, and monthly reporting. You will be involved in fixed asset accounting, monthly review of WIP assets, disposals/depreciation of assets and ensuring IFRS16 compliance. You will perform monthly reconciliations of intercompany transactions, issue balance confirmations, support in maintaining internal controls, financial policies, and procedures. You will liaise with external auditors and the internal Tax Teams to support with compliance processes for UK tax and accounting regulations, along with being involved in process improvement and automation projects to support senior financial management.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for the varied Assistant UK Finance Manager role, you will need experience in a similar position, ideally newly qualified or finalist in ACCA/ACA/CIMA, with strong MS excel skills and trained in range of accounting systems. You will have high attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to be flexible/adaptable to changing priorities. You will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, be willing to learn and develop, along with having strong communication skills to build both internal/external relationships. Experience within a large engineering/manufacturing group and supervisory skills, would be advantageous but not essential.

This permanent Assistant Finance Manager role is offering a salary between £50,000 - £55,000 per annum, dependable on experience based in Wotton-Under-Edge, Gloucestershire.
