Your new company
Hays are currently recruiting for a long-standing Financial Services business in Bristol. The company is currently going through a large transformation project and are looking for a Global Head of Finance Systems and Data to support them in the development and use of their oracle system, specifically focusing on the finance team across the globe.


Your new role
Reporting to the COO for Finance, this is a key global role which will interact with key stakeholders to support their use of Oracle and how it interacts with all areas of finance from AP, AR through to financial planning, reporting and commercial finance. This role will deliver end-to-end services for a portfolio of finance business systems applications and ensure they work and support business functions. Aside from finance, this role must work collaboratively across other global teams, supporting continuous improvement and project related activity. The role will include:

  • Lead the organisation's financial systems and data teams with overall accountability for setting the financial system's strategy.
  • Driving the finance team to adopt new system capabilities whilst managing a team.
  • Deliver end-to-end services for a specific portfolio of applications.
  • Work collaboratively with the change team and support other change projects.
  • Contribute to the completion of high quality business cases and modelling for major change requests

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in the role, you will need a strong knowledge of Oracle within a financial setting. Ideally, you will have a finance background and be comfortable discussing problems and solutions for a variety of finance teams across a global setting, although, this person could come from an IT or Project background if they have a good working knowledge of how a finance team operates. The majority of the UK finance team are based in Bristol, and will be required to work on a hybrid basis in the Bristol office and some travel will be required. Aside from this, you should have excellent communication skills, be able to work to strict deadlines and have good people management skills.
