Hays are recruiting for a successful manufacturing company based in the Irlam area, who are looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant on a fixed term contract for 12 months. This role not only offers you the chance to gain valuable industry experience but also provides the potential for a permanent placement.


Your Role


On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:

  • Assist the Finance Manager with month end routines, reports & reconciliations including preparation of journals to ensure accurate accounting and reporting.
  • Process expenses.
  • Raising and posting journals
  • Process supplier invoices
  • Produce quarter end reporting.
  • Preparing weekly and monthly payment runs.
  • Process and submit VAT returns to HMRC.
  • Reconcile bank and supplier statements.
  • Oversee and manage the contents and correspondence within the mailbox.
  • Manage and resolve supplier queries.
  • Assist with information request required for external audits.


What you'll need to succeed


The successful candidate will have experience in an Accounts Assistant role and possess relationship building skills, attention to detail and the ability to analyse and deliver solutions. You will be able to hit the ground running, demonstrate initiative and have a confident and effective communication style. You will have experience assisting with the month end routine and possess query resolution skills.
