Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a leading and well-established manufacturing group to recruit a dynamic and hands-on Accounts Manager based in Gloucester, Gloucestershire. A permanent and newly created growth role reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, and supporting the supervision of a small accounting team. You will take oversight of all transactional duties for the group, while supporting in preparing accurate financial information, cash flow processes, budgetary processes, business partnering and more. Your new role

Your key duties will involve supporting the supervision of a small accounting team, working with the Group FC to produce up-to-day financial data to group deadlines, reconciling the bank monthly, and working on cash flow processes. You will manage the purchase ledger, sales ledger, and credit control processes, along with payroll, PAYE, and pension processes. You will work with the Group FC on regulatory reporting processes, VAT returns, preparing for the annual audit and site stock processes. Maintain the fixed asset register, reviewing expenditure projects against budget, and business partner with logistics/purchasing/supply chain management in regards to accounting processes/data. You will be involved in ad-hoc projects for the senior management team and process improvement as the organisation grows further.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this hands-on and varied Accounts Manager role, you will need experience within a similar position. Strong communication skills with internal teams and external parties to business partner at all levels, supervisory/leadership experience, with a customer-focussed can-do attitude. Strong MS excel skills, experience with a variety of financial systems, with the ability to manage work-loads and prioritise deadlines. You will have up-to-date knowledge of accounting processes and legislation, an ability to adapt and learn within a changing environment, with a hands-on working approach. You will have experience in transactional duties (purchase/sales ledger, credit control and payroll) with knowledge of cash flow management and month-end processes. Experience within the manufacturing sector and within SME's would be advantageous but not essential.

What you'll get in return

This permanent Accounts Manager role offers a salary between £38,000 - £40,000 per annum, dependable on experience based in Gloucester, Gloucestershire.
