Hays Senior Finance are exclusively partnering with a fast-paced and dynamic business in the Worcester area as they look to recruit a Management Accountant on a permanent basis.

Established over 20 years ago, this rapidly growing online retail business are going from strength-to-strength and now seen as a leading label for the youth market.

Your new role
Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will offer key day-to-day financial support with a focus on pulling together the management accounts for their UK business.

Main duties:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts including P&L reports, balance sheets, board reports and cash flow forecasts
  • Preparation of financial information such as trend analysis, spend analysis reports and graphical representation of items within the financial statements
  • Assist the Finance Manager and Finance Director in producing the monthly and annual financial reporting requirements
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and P&L analysis, investigating unusual reconciling items and highlighting opportunities/risks
  • Preparation of month-end journals such as prepayments, accruals and depreciation
  • Preparation of VAT and overseas sales tax submissions
  • Weekly sales reconciliations
  • Stock reconciliations
  • Make recommendations to improve internal processes and efficiencies within the team

What you'll need to succeed

  • ACCA/CIMA studier or QBE
  • Previous experience of working in a management accounting role
  • Possess a hardworking and 'can do' attitude
  • High attention to detail and able to co-ordinate substantial amounts of information
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to build and maintain effective relationships with non-finance stakeholders
  • Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills and good working knowledge of accounting software (NetSuite highly advantageous)
