Job Details

The role

  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and associated variance reports to budget holders for the UK. Where appropriate take primary responsibility for certain cost centres.
  • Lead the annual statutory audit of Osborne Clarke UK LLP, Osborne Clarke Services (OCS for staff services) and Open Trustees including liaison with external auditors.
  • Preparation of monthly financial accounts; including journal postings, accruals and prepayments plus monthly cash flow analysis..
  • Responsible for ensuring all payroll runs for our Service Company and key controls are reconciled on a monthly basis.
  • Manage the quarterly resource plan process and monthly headcount analysis for Business Services
  • Analyse and report on key performance areas in Business Services functions.
  • Oversee monthly reconciliation of control accounts
  • Contribute to the development of the Trainee Accountant
  • Ability to research and fact find on payroll and tax related queries.
  • Support the preparation and completion of the annual overhead budgets from UK Business Service budget holders. .
  • Manage all accounting and reporting required for our US Operations, including accruals, prepayments, P&L, balance sheet, fixed assets, quarterly tax returns and support on all finance related queries.
  • Ensure reconciliation of monthly transactions for OC Sweden against their primary accounting system
  • Contribute to improvements in key processes within financial accounting remit where necessary to deliver efficiencies and improved accuracy.

Your Skills

The ideal candidate will need to be CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified with an extensive track record of experience. It would be beneficial if this was in professional services but is not a prerequisite. You'll also have:

  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills key
  • Experience of change management
  • Strong excel skills
  • Elite experience desirable but not essential
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work within a team or on own initiative and have the ability to see the wider picture.
  • Proactive and assertive

  • International experience desirable but not essential.
