Accounts Senior - The Role

The Accounts Senior is an integral part of our accounting team, applying technical knowledge and skills. With a focus on fundamental accounting and tax responsibilities, this position is geared towards individuals looking to enhance their professional competencies and grow within the company, with the potential to advance to Client Manager and Team Leader as the practice expands.


Key Responsibilities:


Financial Statement Preparation: Draft financial reports for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements. Tax Services: Prepare tax computations and returns, ensuring timely submissions and adherence to tax laws and regulations. Client Service: Assist in managing client portfolios, maintaining high-quality service delivery that aligns with our firm’s values of excellence. Professional Development: Actively engage in learning opportunities to deepen your expertise in accountancy and taxation. Operational Support: Assist with the maintenance of accounting records, including bookkeeping and management accounting tasks. Qualifications:


Recently qualified ACA Minimum of 1 year experience in an accountancy practice, with proficiency in accounting and taxation. Strong interpersonal skills, capable of effectively communicating complex financial information to clients and colleagues. Detail-Oriented with exceptional attention to detail, striving for excellence in all work.

This role offers the successful candidate a defined path for advancement within Somerset Accountancy. Ambitious individuals will be supported in their journey towards senior roles, with the potential to progress to Client Manager and Team Leader positions as their skills develop and as the firm expands.

We are a small accountancy practice established in 1992 to provide good quality, affordable accountancy services to SME businesses.

Based in the beautiful Somerset countryside in Somerton, we serve SME businesses throughout the UK with preparation of their annual accounts and tax returns, tax planning, commercial advice and assistance with growth by acquisition.
