Your new company
A large and complex not-for-profit organisation with a significant investment portfolio and property portfolio. This organisation is made up of several individual entities that make up the organisation.
Your new role
The Deputy will have specific responsibility for an entity that manages the organisation\'s investment fund and distributes the profits of that fund to the rest of the organisation so that it can carry out the mission. This fund is valued at over £10b and provides the organisation with over £400m of funding per annum. You will act as a trusted advisor to the Chief Executive, senior leadership team and Board of Governors. You will work across the Finance team to ensure that a high quality finance service is provided to the entity which enables them to deliver their business objectives and meet their evolving needs. You will prepare and present reports at board and trustee meetings - utilising the large team in place to prepare the information required.
You will provide senior finance support for the wide range of projects, programmes and grant funding streams undertaken by the organisation, working with the Finance team to ensure that relevant project boards and decision-making committees are appropriately serviced with relevant financial analysis and insight. You will also support the Finance Director in providing leadership of the Finance Team, representing Finance across the organisation entities, and deputising for the FD as needed.
What you\'ll need to succeed
To succeed in this key role, you will need the gravitas to work across the full breadth of activities, the stamina and resilience to service a demanding governance cycle and the flexibility to respond to the unexpected. You will be a qualified accountant, confident operating at Board level. You will demonstrate leadership skills and deep financial acumen to establish yourself as a trusted partner and senior leader within the organisation. A candidate who has worked with an organisation with significant investments would be preferred but not essential.
