Your new company
Hays Senior Finance is exclusively partnered with a private equity backed SME housebuilding business on the outskirts of Chippenham to appoint a newly created Finance Manager position. The business has gone through a period of transformation over the last 12 months or so and is now in a fantastic position to continue its growth.

With a strong leadership team and a newly appointed, growth and development focused CFO, the business needs a strong operational Finance Manager to take responsibility for the production of management reporting and statutory accounts as well as effectively business partner the department heads.

The business has a true "SME" feel, with a lean but effective team and a shared "hands-on" attitude across the relatively flat hierarchy. Every member of the team is valued and the business prides itself on its staff wellbeing and development. Their modern, open-plan offices are in an easily accessible location with free parking and great access to local amenities.


Your new role
This is a hands-on role, supporting the CFO with various deliverables including;

  • Management of the medium finance team, offering support, guidance and mentoring,
  • Managing the production of the management accounts for the Group,
  • Preparing budgets and financial forecasts,
  • Managing the production of various management reporting and analysis,
  • Managing the cashflow forecast,
  • Supporting the CFO with the preparation of the monthly board pack,
  • Overseeing the month-end close process,
  • Lead interactions with external audit and tax advisors,
  • Continuously drive process improvements.



What you\'ll need to succeed
This role requires an experienced and qualified (CCAB or CIMA) accountant with demonstrable management accounting and direct/indirect management experience. Additionally,

  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Highly organised and methodical, with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Flexible, proactive, strategic and a multitasker
  • The ability to work collaboratively and provide appropriate challenge and insight, often under time pressure.
  • Experience within the construction or housebuilding industry is highly advantageous, but candidates with relevant experience from other industries are definitely encouraged.
