Hays Accountancy & Finance are exclusively partnering with a leading organisation to recruit an experienced and hands-on Finance Manager, based out of their Stonehouse, Gloucestershire office. This hands-on, permanent accounting role reports directly into the CEO and will involve supervision of a small finance team, while managing the day-to-day and monthly accounting processes. A varied Finance Manager role where you can really add value, improve systems/processes, and take full ownership of the accounting department.

Your new role

Your key duties will involve day-to-day management of the organisation's accounts, production of financial reports, monthly management accounts and completion of year-end accounts. You will produce and pay VAT returns, manage monthly payroll processes, with HMRC monthly/annual returns, pension scheme processes, and supervise a small accounting team. You will have oversight of outgoing invoices, reconciliations of accounts, along with credit control, and raising payments. You will manage direct debit sign-ups and collections, ensure correct processes of petty cash are followed, and be involved in ad-hoc projects for the senior management team. You will advise the CEO about investment levels, insurance policies and risk analysis. You will actively improve processes and systems as the organisation grows further.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this hands-on and varied Finance Manager role, you will need experience within a similar position, a hands-on approach, and be used to working within SME's. You will be comfortable managing workloads to meet deadlines, key financial systems experience, with MS Excel skills. You will be a team player working in a collaborative environment with excellent communication skills to build relationships both internally/externally at all levels, and with non-financial management. Ideally, you will have supervisory experience or want to supervise a small finance team. You will be proactive in improving systems/processes and be adaptable to organisational needs.

What you'll get in return

This permanent Finance Manager role offers a salary between £32,000 - £40,000 per annum, dependable on experience, based in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire. Full-time 35 hours per week with on-site parking.
