About the role:
You will be managing a portfolio of trusts and tax compliance clients as well as providing planning and advisory support to the directors. The compliance will include overseeing the preparation of trust accounts, self assessment tax returns and R185s, alongside IHT returns, estate tax returns and personal tax returns. Planning and advisory work will be diverse, interesting, and challenging.
You will hold an accountancy or tax qualification such as CTA, ACA or TEP and be either already at senior level and looking for a route to manager level and beyond, or a manager looking for their next step. In both cases you will be wishing to continue to learn and grow in the role.
You will have excellent communication skills – both written and in person. You will be able to explain complex areas of tax to clients in straightforward and understandable language without the use of technical jargon.
You will be flexible and a team player - able to handle you own portfolio of complex clients, undertaking both compliance and consulting work, as well as assisting others as required.
About Charter Tax:
The role will be mainly based at our Kent office, in Goudhurst. We offer hybrid working, with 3 days a week expected in the office. Travel to our London office for client meetings is also expected on an ad hoc basis.
As a firm licensed to carry out probate and estate administration work, we are required by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) to carry out a diversity survey every two years and to report and publish the findings. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience but is generous market rate for a role that is of London quality but with the benefits of being based outside of London. A comprehensive benefits package is also available.
