An independent organisation set up by the government to encourage economic development. This organisation has a lean but high performing finance team including 6 business partners. The organisation is based very centrally with good access to transport links. The organisation has a positive culture with work life balance and flexibility being respected. They are dynamic with staff coming from a mix of sector backgrounds. This role has come up due to natural churn in team and need for a replacement.
Your new role
In this position you will be the primary contact on finance matters for the government Departments that provide funding to the organisation. This will include ensuring accurate and timely reporting of the financial performance for Board and meetings with consideration for the stewardship of public funds, its efficient and effective use of budgets, as well as ensuring that government standards for financial management and reporting are understood and observed across the organisation.
What you\'ll need to succeed
As a fully qualified accountant (eg CIMA, ACCA, ACA), you will have experience of producing accurate financial analysis and reports for stakeholders, and experience in budget and performance management. The ideal candidate will have worked in a public sector environment - and have an understanding of how government operates.
