Your new company
My client is a highly commercial constituent part of ther University of Oxford based in Jericho. They have been undertaking considerable process improvements over recent years to make them ready for the next stage of their development. This is therefore a hugely exciting time to join them. They further the University of Oxford's objective of excellence in research, scholarship, and education, by publishing worldwide.
Your new role
1. Delivery of Financial results
Work with management team to ensure results are delivered for the financial year, tracking and understanding risks and putting mitigation plans in place.
2. Strategic Analysis
Provide financial analysis to help business set strategy, including appropriate allocation of resources and targeted investment.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting
Lead the budget, forecast and 5 Year Plan process. Needs to have a clear understanding of how financials will be delivered, understanding, and evaluating risks.
4. Commercial support
Support decisions taken with sound commercial judgement and analysis, including investment appraisals, publishing plans and product development.
5. Major product launches
Support major product launches, ensure tracking mechanisms and governance in place to help ensure return on investment.
6. Business & Market Analysis
Perform ad-hoc business analysis to aid effective decision-making.
7. Teamwork
Work effectively as part of the Academic Finance team, the Academic Division and across the wider OUP group.


What you\'ll need to succeed
* Qualified ACA (or CIMA / ACCA) ideally with experience in commercial or business partnering role.
* Initiative and ability to successfully implement new ideas, with drive to push through.
* Self-starter and able to work independently.
* Outgoing, persuasive and a good communicator with an ability to communicate complex financial matters in a way that is understood at all levels.
* Have the ability to manage a complex workload with multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
* Strong Excel skills
* Experience of data analysis, interpretation, reconciliation, and presentation
* Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred). Experience of systems transition a bonus.
* Discrete and trustworthy
* A good team player
* Some travel to UK/USA/Canada may be required.
