The Global Fiscal Policy Team

PwC's Global Fiscal Policy team supports our clients across the spectrum of fiscal policy: providing policy analysis and impact assessment, technical assistance and capacity building in the areas of public financial management, tax reform and tax administration.

We work with international organisations, businesses, and ministries of finance, tax administrations and other government departments, advising decision makers on complex issues of significance for society. Our clients often have a significant focus on ESG issues.

Our team includes public financial management specialists, tax policy and administration experts, economists, policy advisors, and project managers, many of whom have experience working in the public sector and in international contexts.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a high performing Manager or Senior Manager candidate, with expertise in tax administration, fiscal policy, public financial management and/or in economics and modelling. You will need to thrive in a variety of contexts, including winning and delivering client work, managing projects and teams, contributing to business growth and supporting the overall development of the team. As a Senior Manager, you will be additionally responsible for leading business development and team development in your area(s) of specialism.

As a member of the team you will be offered the opportunity to work on interesting, challenging and satisfying assignments around the world as part of a fantastic group of people. All our projects are undertaken in close collaboration with others, so candidates should be those who excel at working as part of a team. The role is based in the London Embankment Place office, but will require the flexibility to travel internationally.

Essential skills

  • Demonstrable expertise in one or more of the team's areas of work, including tax administration, fiscal policy and analysis, and public financial management
  • Proven experience engaging with stakeholders or clients
  • Proven experience managing and leading projects and project teams
  • Strong written and analytical skills, including the ability to work with numbers
  • Ability to pick up complex and unfamiliar tasks, cut through the noise and deliver within tight timeframes
  • Relevant professional experience with either the public or private sector

Other helpful skills and experience

In addition, the below skills and experiences are desirable. Expertise and ability to work across several of these areas would be an advantage:

  • Experience working in a finance ministry/Treasury or tax/revenue authority
  • Economic modelling, econometrics and/or data analysis skills
  • Experience working in ESG and the ESG aspects of tax and fiscal policy (e.g. climate change, net zero, tax transparency, sustainable reporting and/or sustainability policies)
  • Experience with tax policy, tax administration or tax advice
  • Experience working in other government ministries, particular executive offices or a finance ministry/Treasury
  • Tax technical or accounting background and the associated tax or accounting qualifications
  • Ability to work in Arabic
  • Tertiary qualification (Bachelor's or Master's degree or similar) in economics, finance, accounting, public policy, or other relevant area
